A Legacy of Craftsmanship Since 1915

Founded in 1915, Alfred Brown is a British weaving mill with a long-standing tradition of producing fine worsted cloth. Still family-run, the mill draws on generations of expertise to maintain exacting standards of quality, working with carefully selected yarn suppliers to craft fabrics of enduring character and precision.

Located in Yorkshire, a region steeped in textile heritage, Alfred Brown balances technical experience with a deep respect for materials. All wool used is non-mulesed, reflecting a commitment to ethical sourcing and animal welfare.

Our partnership with Alfred Brown is grounded in shared values: craftsmanship, responsibility, and a belief in clothing that endures. Garments, which use Alfred Brown fabric are the Adriane Shirt, Pardon Pants and Otto Skirt. All are made of 100% Wool to ensure a comfortable feel and enduring quality.
